First of all I would like to apologise for the silence, like everyone else I have been trying to make sense of the current global crisis we find ourselves in.
I don’t have it all figured out yet but one thing I know without a shadow of a doubt is that my God will come through for me and though I may not know how or even when, I am certain of His faithfulness towards me. The reason for my robust confidence is the relationship I have and have built with Him.
20 years ago I accepted the call to become Christian, we exchanged vows and just like that I entered into a covenant with the King of Kings. He gave me the right to call Him Father, and ever since my life has never been the same.
I remember that the 13 year old me was very excited about this new journey I was embarking on and because of this I wanted to share with everyone, that my hope had been restored and that I had a new reason for waking up in the morning.
At the beginning of the year the Lord said we must study the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6 from verse 9 and in this portion of scripture one of the things I came to gain full appreciation for are the words:”Our Father who art in heaven”.
They suddenly had a new meaning because as a parent I know my kids do not doubt their father’s ability to provide, protect and love them. It does not matter what their friends say or what the evidence presents they simply do.They do not doubt him because he has never failed them.
A similar story is told of a boy who was in a train that was moving fast and though everyone in it was panicking thinking that it would crash, the boy was smiling, when asked why, he said:”my dad is the driver.”
He knew his father would do everything in his power to ensure his safety.
This morning one of the wailers sent a message in the group saying that the Lord wants us to win souls. This served as a confirmation in my spirit that there are things we take for granted. It was confirmation to my spirit about all the things we have taken granted. We take it for granted that we are able to decree and declare through the authority He gives us.
Most importantly, I remembered that soul winning is still a priority to Him, because He loves us and wants a relationship with each and everyone of us. We take it for granted that we can cry to Him, while some people do not have the same access we have to our loving Father.
So the question becomes,”do you know Him or do you know of Him?”. There is a difference between knowing of Him and knowing Him.
When you have a relationship with someone you talk, you laugh, and you cry together. He desires this kind of relationship with you.Why not use this time of social isolation to evaluate your relationship with Him. If you are not sure where you stand just take time to recommit yourself. For those who have a relationship with Him,when you take time to pray may you also pray for those who do not have a relationship with him. Habakkuk 2 verse 14 says:
“For the earth will be filled
With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord,
As the waters cover the sea”
PS: EVEN IF YOU WERE THE ONLY PERSON ON EARTH HE WOULD HAVE STILL DIED FOR YOU KNOWING YOU CAN STILL CHOOSE NOT TO ACCEPT HIM. THAT’S HOW MUCH HE LOVES YOU…BECAUSE YOU ARE WORTH IT!
